That One Great Shot

That One Great Shot

So, you really want that one spectacular wedding picture?

A great picture with a simple setup.

A great picture with a simple setup.

Well, the first thing you have to define is what makes a great picture for you? Is it just the two of you in great light in a special location? Does it feature some keepsake from your past or are you looking to go the blockbuster route?

Sometimes it’s as simple as the picture above. This is the happy couple on their front porch next to the letter that hangs there for their last name. They actually met buying this, believe it or not. It’s so cute to me that buying an “I” led to a “we.”

However sometimes it takes a little more work/effort/time, like the pictures below.

This picture took some serious preparation and almost 45 minutes to capture.

This shot took an extra person and some specialized equipment to pull off.

To get that spectacular picture, just communicate your desire to your photographer. I love working in the moment. In fact, my favorite part of a wedding is finding the rhythm of the day and riding the wave. But I cut my professional teeth as a commercial photographer creating spectacle so I love when a couple has the energy to go for a spectacle.
